  • Gallery Experience: 3 consecutive years. Proposed and developed this art history course. Focuses on the changing function of art from pre-Modern through Postmodern periods. Secured full student enrollment even though a non-required course.
Significant contributions outside of normal contractual duties:
  • Curated, organized and installed an exhibition of contemporary Latino artists called Day of the Dead in the Gustavus Schaefer Art Gallery.
  • Wrote and received an Artist Series Johnson Fund Grant for the Day of the Dead exhibition.
  • Developed a new course called Gallery Experience, advocated for its inclusion in the art department curriculum, and received approval.
  • Recruited to participate in search committee for sabbatical replacement.
  • Headed the student Art Club as the advisor.
  • Recruited by art major as internship supervisor.
  • Recruited by art major for independent study.
Departmental activities:
  • Organized and wrote the reorganization proposal for a change to a 6 course load.
  • Attended and participated in department meetings and seminars, contributing ideas to improve the art program and curriculum as well as departmental organization.
  • Voted on departmental issues.
  • Critiqued student artwork and advised students during art major reviews.
  • Preregistration and course counseling for art majors.
